List 3 of your most favourite (and preferably obscure) software programs and why they're useful. Then tag 3 people so they might learn of some cool programs that they also may want to use.
Well, being as I don't really use much obscure software anymore since I'm too lazy to research and download that kind of thing anymore (Microsoft's crushed soul of a demographic in other words), this list is going to be a bit bland.
1) Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop - I just have a lot of fun putting together images with these (Photoshop I use more for playing with drawings than actual photo work), and I want to learn more, More, MORE! Fortunately, school starts in less than two months. And when student aid kicks in, I'm-a gonna be picking up CS3 at student discount. Huzzah.
2) Retrospect 6.0 - Nice little backup program that lets you do compressed or one-to-one file backups to all sorts of media. Sadly, I don't know where my copy of this is right now, nor do I remember the FTP site to get a free copy (otherwise I'd link it), so I'm stuck using stupid Retrospect Express HD 1.1, which is easier to use, but a) less functional, b) buggier, and c) available for Windows only (sorry
skunk237).
3) Acronis MigrateEasy - A good tool for imaging one drive onto another rather quickly. I've had problems with some drive copying software cocking up Windows boot.ini file, or security settings, or other application data. With MigrateEasy, the only snag I ran into was I had to re-enter the ID key for one application... that's it.
