The idea of writing something ambiguous like this hit me as soon as I saw the prompt. That and probably spending a little too much time thinking over how Marian would have reacted to Guy being executed.

This is really powerful - much as she worked against Guy, I think seeing him hanged would really tear her up after all the times she tried to find the good in him.

Judging from her reaction to Robin's words about Guy being executed when the king arrived in 1x12, she would've been pretty horrified if it happened. She might even feel kind of guilty if he went to the gallows accompanied with the knowledge that she never really loved him. :(
