Finishing my round-up, here's my take on Jericho, Ugly Betty, Help Me Help You, Studio 60, Justice, 30 Rock, The Nine, Heroes, *and* the best new show on TV by a country mile. That's right - not Heroes, not The Nine, not Studio 60.

Jericho: I've heard good things about this show's potential, but just haven't gotten into it. It occupies the Wed. 8PM timeslot for my beloved bones, so that's probably why it's not on my radar. And it's on CBS, which is generally just a demerit in my subconscious, so there's that, too.
Ugly Betty: Not to sound repetitive, but I've also heard good things about this quirky show, too. I just don't feel like trying to keep up with another comedy - already have How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, My Name is Earl, The Office - and my Thursdays are already too full as it is.
Help Me Help You: Again with the comedy disclaimer - and, I've never been a big Ted Danson fan. Plus, I already had Eureka on SciFi as my one other allowance in Veronica's timeslot for my DVR. This one didn't stand a chance.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: In spite of Aaron Sorkin's liberal socio-political sprinklings sometimes found in the dialogue, I've managed to keep up with this well-written show. A dramedy in every sense ( ... )

But I must also mention one that you've neglected, Larry. And you may not be a big sports nut, so it hasn't made your watch-list, but for me, I think Friday Night Lights is my favorite new show this year. The concept is a quasi-spinoff/re-imagining from the film of the same name last year. A few characters are the same, others are new - but the writing and acting so far is absolutely top-notch. The mindset of the small-town of Dillon, TX is that football is life - everything else is peripheral - and that mentality is hammered home with very layered characters, each of which we've just started to scratch the suface in the first few eps. Along with The NIne, this was just about the most widely critically-praised new show since Lost, but the ratings have been unfortunately low. It's not dead yet, as NBC has ordered more scripts, but it is on life support. It may go down as another quality show that was cut off at the knees, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts.
Anyway, nice listing, Larry.
