Skimmed this post. For the record Devo and I use LJ as a way to communicate when we're unable to talk via the computer or phone (like now while he's on duty) and I'm using LJ daily now, but you can't see any of the posts because they're all protected. We each have LJ's but are currently sharing mine in so much as he refuses to post to his own so is posting to mine, hides the post so only I can see it and then vise versa... its an interesting way to talk for sure. LOL
Anyway... For the record Tomas you're doing good... I know some days the homework combined with work schedules etc. have to be very burdensome, but you're doing good. :-) Just thought maybe you could use a bit of encouragement.
Why does he refuse to post to his LJ? That's the whole point of having an account. He can filter his post so that only you can read it.
It's funny you stopped by because I had an overwhelming desire to send you a link to this post, but decided not to. I actually thought about calling you last night, but I figured you were on with Devo, so I refrained.
He uses his LJ as a way to view my posts, not the other way around. He posts all of his writings to DeviantArt and uses Devaughn to read my blog. It works for us. :-)
I don't know if you've been keeping up, but it's not just the homework + work that's the problem. What's really causing the problem is my school schedule. True, I may be a lazy enough bastard that it won't matter anyway, but I do believe that if I would have picked a better school schedule that I would be happier in the long run because I would be able to live more normal hours.
I don't want to just do good, I want to excel. Thus far, I don't feel like I'm excelling. On the flip side, I'll feel better once this and Summer semester are in the can and I have transferred to Athens without any further ado, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. Even if I somehow eek out in Chem I, I still have to perform in Chem II.
If I don't make the grade, at the very least, I have to re-take Chem I and then wait to take Chem II. Failing Chem this semester could also cause me problems when I attempt to transfer to Athens State. Only time will tell.
You can see why I'm not really excited about my current or next semester.
I took Music Appreciation, and found it way easier than the stories I've heard from people in Art Appreciation. But I also was in band, so I might have a slight advantage...
I appreciate art for what it is. I'm not crazy about it, but I enjoy expression and the trivia of when what work was created by whom. Being forced to blitz memorize this trivia, on the other hand, is not my idea of fun.
I was in Art History long enough to know that's exactly how it worked. I'm thinking that an appreciation class might be a little better. I'm thinking that it will be even better at a community school taught by a guy that really enjoys his field and that I connect with.
True, I have no real musical background. I do enjoy scores and love the "classical" composers and can identify a number of tunes by just hearing the first measure of the piece. Still, I'm thinking that unless it's a bullshit, easy A, I'd be a touch better off going with Art Appreciation.
Frankly, I think I'm just fucked and have a cross to bear.

That all sounds awesome, and your photograph is pretty good. You've done well there, sir! XP
As far as scheduling goes, I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out now that you've had this semester's experience. Have you heard back on any of the grades yet?
As for the technology stuff, it's tricky - especially with Apple. (Have you seen the new iPad 2 video(s)!? iWant! XP Again, I think it's something that needs to be worked out with your specific circumstances, particularly as a programmer - an area I have no experience in.
Cabin fever is definitely hitting us, too. I want to get out, just there's not enough daylight now to do so. We're thinking about getting back to the UK in late May, but with getting a house in the near future, it's a juggling of responsibilities really.
Good luck to us both!
In other news, I think I'm switching to Google Chrome as my browser of choice...
Chem grades haven't been posted, though all three labs were higher than 90. I think it was like 93, 98 and 100. Homework should be up to par as well. So really, the only outstanding item is the test I didn't take.
The second test will be available to take starting next Tuesday evening. The instructor will be out a week from tomorrow, so I plan to take the test during the regularly scheduled class period.
We graded our tests today in Photography. I was shocked that I only made a 74 on the test. Most of the questions I missed were on film. I hadn't read up on film and we didn't discuss it much in class. However, there are three tests that make up 50% of the grade. The other 50% comes from the portfolio that we have to turn in and I can get extra credit by bringing in developed color negatives and enlarging them. I know that the two of the girls that I sit next to both did as bad or worse than I did. It will be interesting to see how this class ends.
No, I haven't seen the iPad 2 videos, though I did catch it all on Engadget's live blog. Apple has made their press conferences available as a podcast, so I'll watch the event tonight even though I know what's coming.
I think that the iPad 2 now competes directly head to head with the Motorola Xoom with the exception that the Xoom can display true 720p videos, though iPad 2 can output 1080p via the HDMI adapter. The only question is whether or not iPad 2 has more than a paltry 256MB of memory or not. Not that it matters, so long as everything runs smooth on the device, but you can never have enough memory. (By comparison, the iPad 1 only has 256MB.)
Oh, for what it's worth, Apple is currently selling the iPad 1 on clearance for $100 of the original price across the board.
If there's one thing I've learned since moving to Development, it's that developing takes resources.
I think I'll be ok and can hold out at least another year or so before I start upgrading machines again if I upgrade the memory. This may, however, mean not moving to Lion until next year. Also, since m0bil30n3 works fine now and feels like it has more power than the miniMax0r, I can bump the memory in it if I run out of development resources. That will definitely get me through an upgrade cycle.

I've always wanted to learn to play the cello since that's my favorite instrument.
