Hey, would you like to collaborate? I've been fixing to write a big long musical suite lately (like "Thick As A Brick" by Tull mixed with "The Crane Wife" by the Decemberists), but I've got no plotline to wrap my musical ideas around.
Yes, I would love to, here in lies my challenge, I have to go through the millions and millons of text documents to find something I feel is good enough to catch your eye. I mean I dont care if it gets changed around or anything cause basically all of it is just ideas to help who is collaborating with me. Heck I dont even care if my name is any where on it. So if you can bare with the rawness of it and dont mind the bouncing back and forth of questions and ideas, till we get something we both like, then we deffiently have a deal :)
I love where your going with it. Though I havent heard "Thick As A Brick" but I know what you mean by "The Crane Wife" - Something with movements and maybe some reacurring musical themes. It all comes back to the Decemberists but if you havent heard it yet check out "The Tain"
Sure, sounds awesome. If you have AIM, my screenname is BeatleChar if you'd like to chat. I like "Thick As A Brick" because it manages to be a single 45 minute composition that never gets boring or loses interest. I credit the Decemberists for reawakening my inner prog rock nerd (The Tain is awesome), but I'd rather base a long-form composition on an original idea than on ripping off Japanese folk tales like Mr. Meloy. If you're overflowin' with ideas, so much the better.
