O-oh, pardon me, Bartre?

What's with all those... letters and numbers and things?! Can't you dream about manly things like... like spareribs?!

They were Chemical formulae, many of which make up the process generally known as respiration--

'Spareribs'? Are those particularly, ah, 'manly'?

[have a very confused and Muggle-incompetent Draco staring at you.]

What...was that?

[Blink. Blink. Have a smile, Draco.]

Ah, Draco. It...appeared to be a few of the chemical equations--and similarly associated structures--that take place during the process of respiration.

[that went over his head.]

...right. Uh huh. In English?

[Oh dear. He has this problem often. He pauses, thinking about this.]

It was...the chemicals involved in...allowing us to breathe?

[...Wait what. Was this guy seriously dreaming about chemistry?]

That... W-What was that...?

[Sadly, yes.]

Oh! It appeared to be a number of the chemical equations--and the structures of the molecules involved in said equations--involved in the process of respiration.

[Well, that's not weird at all.]

So that was, a-ah... Chemistry?

Entirely right! Have you studied the subject?

...the first one is Acetyl Coenzyme A, isn't it? But for the second one... ah, I didn't go that far into Chemistry.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide? It is another enzyme that can be found in the human body, and this is more related to Biochemistry as opposed to Chemistry in its purest form, though I digress.

...I must admit I knew little of this before the recent events.

Ah... a similar composition, perhaps? [Trying not to show how disappointed he is that he got it wrong.]

It has been awhile since I went to University, and my major was in Physics, not Chemistry.

There are certainly some similarities, though the functions themselves are, of course, different. Differing enzymes do, of course, possess different tasks that they are best suited for.

Physics? Ah, I see. That must have been quite the fascinating field of study, however!

Incomplete reaction mechanisms, it would appear, but yes, you are quite correct.

I am not, no. I am merely a simple scholar.
