Visit from an old friend

Nov 02, 2005 17:09

First of all, Happy Birthday, ridicully! May you find a nice place for working on your dissertation!

I hope you all had a great weekend and those who celebrate it had a wonderful Halloween!

My weekend was four days long because there was a Holiday yesterday, and I'd taken off on Monday too, ( because a good friend from my school times visited us for the weekend... )

trips, movies, heidelberg

You are braver than me. You know I'd never ever take the stairs. I'm almost as opposed to that as ilanga :)

here were no clothes for normal people. Everything that looked halfway interesting was in sizes suited for dolls, 38 being the maximum size!

I hate, hate, hate that, too. Maybe you won't believe me, but with trousers, sometimes even I need size 40. And really, I can't be more than 5 kilos away from being underweight. So, only having 38 and under excludes a whole lot of women.

Noone ever carries my jeans size, too. Yes, I do have rather big tighs. Doesn't mean I also need very long legs, really. If you ever come across a 30/32, let me know...

I'm going to watch W&G on Friday :)

What I also hated was that there were some clothes in S, M, L sizes, but L wasn't wider than S, just the arms were longer...

When I'm in desperate need of new jeans, I usually go to C&A. All their shops have a big shelve somewhere, where there're jeans not only in all sizes, but with three different leg lengths for each size. So I usually take a bigger size, but with the short leg length. And they have room for thighs :o)

I remember those steps from the time Hubbie and I spent a couple of days in Heidelberg!

And Deichmann too - they're a national chain of stores in Germany, aren't they? I bought myself a pair of shoes from Deichmann in Detmold 20 years ago when I lived near there, and they were some of the best shoes I've ever bought - they lasted quite a few years of hard wear.

Yep, they are. I get most of my shoes there, too.

Yeah, Deichmann isn't bad. They have also good prices. I've got quite a few of my shoes from there too.
