new icons!

What does one do after coming home from Thanksgiving dinner with the in-laws? Of course, spend the rest of the night making icons for the slash_icons100 challenge, because the first batch is due today... and when have I ever done anything that was not last minute? ^_

Always wanted to tell you (and here´s the proper place!) that the "Fate" icon of Cedric is incredibly beautiful. It really brings over emotions. How do you do it that the images are still "sharp" when you resize them? I often have it that when I make them small, they become blurry.

Ah, I see someone has succumbed to the Cedric obsession! For someone who changes icons so rarely that really is noteworthy ;) (and that's a very nice icon... great picture, and the shading is just right to put the text on that side).

And thank you, I'm glad you like my icon... I was looking for a nice Cedric one, but just couldn't find exactly what I wanted. So ended up spending the better part of the night fiddling around with my own. Didn't come out quite the way I had imagined it, but I still like it :)

As for making the image sharper... I don't know what program you're using to make icons, so I can't really say how you could do it. Most programs have a simple "sharpen" option that you can use after resizing the image. Sorry if that's not very helpful ^_^;

Thank you a lot, your hint WAS helpful! I already tried the "sharpen" button in the past by changing sharpness from "0" to "10" or "20" - but never saw any difference so I gave it up. Now I pushed it to "100" and - voila! - finally it worked. Not as brilliant as yours but it looks a lot better! But I think everyone is always too critical with their own icons...

And yes, I do change my icons very rarely, somehow I always come back to Aragorn and Legolas *lol*

Heh, yeah, I agree with that... even the most brilliant iconmakers still seem to find faults with their own icons sometimes. But in a way that's goo, because that way we'll always look for ways to improve our icon-making skills (making it sound like an artform now ;)).

You might go back to Aragorn and Legolas, but for now it seems like Cedric definitely rules ;) And since you linked me to those great pictures... have you by any chance come across any good Cerdric centered fanfics yet? I've been looking around a bit, but without much success...

Thank you :) Yes, Cedric can really grow on you... he has really caught a lot of people's attention. Maybe it's just the tragedy of his character, but he's definitely hard to resist.
