"Yay! Hockey!"
Got back this afternoon from my Ohio adventure with mj_notes. We had a blast!! I didn't really have any expectations for Columbus in general, but it's really a great little city. Clean, friendly, pleasant, and inviting. (Despite a muggy - to me - 70°!) We were impressed.
According to the locals, Schmidt's Sausage Haus is THE place to eat in German Village, an historic neighborhood we were exploring just south of downtown. Yum! Awesome food. Outstanding service. And we discovered why their famous cream puffs (pictured here) are so famous. Wow.
The Bruins lost to the Blue Jackets, but it was an exciting game. No disappointment there! And we had great seats - balcony right at center ice. Mike got a bunch of great action shots. Whenever the "Jacks" scored a goal, a cannon was fired. I don't think it was loaded though.
More later. I haven't finished my Official Quest Picture yet, but I'm tired!!
PS. Mike has already claimed a spot on the Nashville trip for Bruins v Predators next season! I am looking forward to it! This trip seemed pretty tame compared to his usual adventures (no tornadoes), but I guess he had fun anyway. :)
