First Jenka-backstory ficlet: "The man in the pretty uniform"

Damn, I haven't even started TST, and I'm writing fanfic already! Well, I had been warned...

I just applied to play Jenka in theskytides RP, so I'm trying to flesh out her character. My version of the backstory includes her being turned into a Jager as a small child, to find out if that had a higher survival rate. This

Ooo, nice! It's a good start to the story. I also love the little details that we get about Jenka's personality, particularly the magpie-like attraction to shiny objects at this point. :)

Thank you!! ^_^ Most of what I've been reading lately is your writing, so clearly you're a good example.

Writing this was a really interesting exercise. I'm happy with myself for figuring out it's a good idea to mention past/future/irrelevant things instead of just writing down what's happening. And I now have Thesaurus.com as a one-letter shortcut in Firefox. I might never look at a book the same way ;-)

Poor lil' Jenka. As terrible as it is to know what will happen to her, I'm still interested in seeing how it will be done and how it would effect her.

And, well, we also know she's going to be just fine in the end. So it's not too bad.
