Noooo it's actually pretty good, especially for a teen supernatural show. I mean, it's obviously still finding it's footing. Some episodes are better than others. But they've got a great cast of characters--all of them are teen movie stereotypes, turned just a little on their ears. And the teens have parents. Who are in their lives. And... fully realized characters. There's a lot of focus on families and friendship, which I always like.
It's kind of like a teen version of Supernatural, without all the questionable themes, shotgun misogyny, and unnecessary angst. The female characters get stronger as the season goes on, and have useful skills and courage, and there are *gasp* people of colour in the cast, and queer characters, and... I don't know, it's silly but pleasantly so.
I just finished watching the season and really liked it. Stiles was, however, my favourite character. By far. Love him. I s'pose Scott is rather dull in comparison...
Scott has his charms. There were points where Scott/Allison got a bit Twilight, but they redeemed it with Allison's archery skills, and Scott having real human relationships with other people and... not being creepy. Also man, the supporting cast is so entertaining, you know?
Yeh, much as I like Stiles better (and weirdly, I always like one of the supporting cast more than the main character), I also think Scott hasn't fully grown into himself yet, if that makes sense?
I agree, her archery's AWESOME and the supporting cast are THERE and REAL, not cardboard cut-outs. I'm just as interested in them as I am in the main two. I'm interested to see how it all goes and how the characters develop.
