God, this. Inception fandom is possibly the most varied, entertaining fandom I've been involved with for this reason - there's so much to explore and so many varied interpretations that can all be considered right. I've never been a prolific fanfic writer, but Inception is closed in all the right places and completely open in all the others. It's kind of completely awesome.
