I've never read Rose of Versailles (I don't know Japanese) but I've seen some scans of the artwork and it definitely looks lovely.

Heh. :) Yes, I would love to see Rose of Versailles released in English. I've read a few synopsis of the series and it really looks neat. And the French Revolution is just such a fantastic setting for a story. I've also heard the character Oscar (is that her name?) was an inspiration for Revolutionary Girl Utena, so I would definitely like to read it one day.

Mmm, RoV... someone sent me fansubs on VHS years ago. When I got my wig for cosplaying Dorian, I decided someday I was going to have to use it for Oscar as well. ;)

I keep thinking that now that digital fansubs are easily accessible, I should download the series and watch it for REAL. I think my fansubs were about 5th generation - and I couldn't make out half of a few episodes between the sound and the picture going out intermittently. These kids today, with their bittorrent and IRC filesharing channels - they don't know how good they've got it. ;)

My VHS are pretty good just for VHS copies....but the CD ones are ofcourse, much better. :D
