Report on Aoike-sensei's exhibition

Nov 05, 2014 15:13

So I went to the Aoike-sensei’s exhibition held in Kyoto over the weekend. As expected her drawings were super wonderful seen so up close - they were so intricate and the colours were amazingly different from the ones printed. I managed to combine the trip to get together with fellow Eroicafen and we talked about Eroica non-stop over lunches, teas ( Read more... )

Drool, sigh, squeal. I wish we could all go there and have a giant fan meeting. :) But seeing all the pictures/impressions is pretty fine, too, so big THANK YOU!
Ha ha, and that tank cake is awesome (did you try it?). Is the drink supposed to be an allusion to "Seven seas, seven skies"? Or to something else?

Hey it was my pleasure! Yes wouldn't it be fun for us all to get together there?! The exhibition is on till 1st Feb (and on 17th Jan you can actually meet Aoike-sensei in person & get an autograph!) so it is not too late to book your flight ticket to Japan!! ;-)))

No, unfort. we did not get to try out that tank cake as by that time we already had a huge lunch and a cake! But hopefully in January..:) We thought maybe the colours of the drink represent those of the Major's and the Earl's eyes?!?!

Slightly ironic: I probably -will- be visiting Japan for the first time coming year, but the time for the trip is pretty much set already and it is after the exhibition. Ah well, I will at least grabble all through a Mandarake shop for Eroica goodies.

If possible, please give us also infos about your trip in January after you went! <3

Wow, how nice that you went there! Thanks for sharing those pics. I would love to have those big posters! I read that you didn't try the tank cake this time (from your blog article), but I'm really wondering about it. Very cute!

No problem ntuEgo! Yes it was so lovely to go there and see those beautiful drawings in person...!

I was pleasantly surprised that you managed to read my blog but then again I remembered you saying you can read some Japanese...;-) That was a real shame that we did not get to try the tank cake (had I lived closer I would have gone back there just to taste it!!) but hopefully there would be another interesting Eroica-related sweets next time I visit in January! I guess one more thing to look forward to! :)

Seems you had a great time, lucky you! Too bad you didn't get to try the cake, but from what I see here the exhibition was fantastic!

Yes it was great! To be honest initially I thought it would be a bit of pain having to go there twice as Kyoto is about 3+ hours away from Tokyo but now I'm glad I'm going again in Jan as not only the exhibition very interesting but it's so much fun going with fellow Eroicafen (and who knows next time we might get to try the tank cake, too!!)
