I don't know if any of you have seen this, but a video about Eroica I found on YouTube. Apparently an art critic (Natsume) is explaining the differences of men and women in old shoujo manga using Eroica as an example.

Well, I've already seen it. I'm surpised it hasn't been pulled down again. The last time it was because Japan claimed copyright infringement.

Oh, and at one point he refers to Dorian (in drag) as she and one of the panel laughs.

The scene is from the TV series "BS Manga Yawa," a BS program by
NHK, the government-affiliated Broadcasting Corporation.
Featuring selected popular or good mangas every time, the series
has been irregularily aired since 1996.

The YouTube one featuring Eroica was probably aired Aug.26.1998.

In this part called "Natsume's eye," Manga critic Fusanosuke Natume reviews the featured manga.

And this is really boring. I don't think it is even worth to introduce
with translation.

(...but tried the first part... )

(Pointing Dorian in Drag with dark hair)

"What is funny about Eroica plays in the scene of page 64 Vol.13.
Looking him in drag, it is obvious he does not look like woman.
In this case, she... no(laugh), he is obviously written as a handsome (beautiful) man in drag.
Firstly, the chin line is different from women's. It's too square.
And the nose. it's sharp. Then the eyebrows, which are strong.
Also the eyes are different too.
Let's compare them with the woman's....

The author later said that she was modeled after Diana.
This is symbolically a woman in the comic."

....blah blah blah...
