And now for something completely different...

With the stories getting longer, it's going to take longer for me to go through them. I have reached the point where I stopped last year. Also, I am going to break them into parts so they don't get too unwieldy.

So, to tide you over until I finish "Alaskan Front," I give you this postcard that I found ages ago in my mother's collection.

Postcard of West Germany )

Nice! Do you know what time it's from - the 70s, maybe?

On the blob-issue: Well, it's a postcard of West Germany, so putting in landmarks for East Germany would rather confuse the issue, much like putting in landmarks for any of the other surrounding countries. :-)

My grandmother worked for the woman this came from. She was from Germany and used to travel quite a bit with her husband, who died in the 1950s. I suspect that it is from the early 1950, or possibly even the late 1940s. There were several others of Germany and Austria with this one.

This was never mailed, so no postmark. I was so shocked when I saw it, I let out a loud yell. My son came in to see if I'd fallen. Thank goodness he understood my amusement.

Wow, very cool! My first instinct was to guess the 50s because of the style, but the clean modern-loooking font threw me off. :-)
