God, I love Sheppard when he's in a mean mood. And he will be so much more in a mean mood when he finds out where Teyla is. Also, seeing Mark being so damn loyal to his Captain is always a pleasure. Can't wait to see the next one.

I started out thinking that it was more how the mercenary saw Sheppard, and that Sheppard didn't realise the effect he was having, but that ended up with John being too much like the way I write Jack (crazy - maybe crazy like a fox, but more likely just crazy).

My natural inclination is to have Sheppard far more hapless, but, yeah, I think he's gearing up to do that scary intense Black Colonel thing...

I still think it makes sense you wrote him like that. One of his most trusted men was wounded critically and he really doesn't like it if someone does that to his people.

In fact I like to interpret the working relationship between Sheppard and Lorne in the way that Lorne is very different in almost everything (he's very probably not the black sheep of the Air Force, for one) but that he still chose to respect his CO unabashedly. And Sheppard on the other hand knows what he has in his 2IC and would never take it lightly if he was in danger of losing him. So yeah, makes very much sense he get off on the mercenary like that. Well, in my head ;)

Oh yeah, that's John alright.

(Why am I now thinking 'You wouldn't like me when I'm angry'? ;)

Poor Janel- I suspect she's "contaminated" by her contact with Atlantis in ways she may not yet understand.

Julia, given that knowledge is such a precious economic commodity, and all

I don't think Sheppard knows - yet. And I'm not sure it'd be a good idea to tell him...
