I just recently realized FMA meant Full Metal Alchemist. I've caught the anime a few times and its really interesting but I like picked up in the middle and its hard for me to get into it that way.

I recommend reading the manga above anything else!!

If you like Avatar, you might like it. :)

Eh I'm not big on manga and its hard for me to get ahold of. Its not one I think I'd really go to effort to get ahold of but if its there I like it.

*foams*

I'm up to chapter 50 now (aww, Winry <3's Ed), and I'm really wondering how the "official" translation differs from the (I assume) fan-performed ones on onemanga. Some of those folks really need to get a grasp of the concept of "idiom".

The official translation is alright... Its really not too different! Both versions need to leanr how to spell Ling though. It's not Lin! Haha

Heeee Ed <333 Winry so much. I love them. XD

So you don't have exams at the end of your senior year? That's so strange... if you were in the UK, your most important high school exams would still be ahead of you. o_O And you can leave school without passing them; there's no such thing as officially graduating from secondary school here. I wish I'd gone to school in the US

I started reading FMA too, and it was all going fine until I got to a certain page in chapter 5... and it pushed my Nightmare Fuel buttons so bad that I stopped reading. *pathetic* I might start reading it again and just skip those pages. :P

Ooooh yeah, I should've warned that this series has quite a lot of nightmare fuel. >> (It was the Nina thing, right? That disturbed me so much the first time I read it)

Nah, we just have AP exams for college credit, and our finals. SATs and stuff, are generally in junior year. There's no exams that you have to pass to graduate, you just have to get all of your credits.

Yeah, the Nina thing... urgh, terrifying. Apart from that, I liked it, though!

That sounds like a better system, taking your SATs in your second-last year... though that year seems to be a tough one for lots of people in both countries.

You kind of get desensitized to the scariness as you go on... But yeah, those poor kids see a lot of really disturbing stuff. D: (the thing that they make when they try to bring back their mom... *shudders*)

yeah, junior year sucks, but it's nice to have it over with. And you can retake it as many times as you need to.
