So today um, I kind of randomly painted this picture... and I REALLY like it.

I'm also really happy because I- I AM TAKING AN ART CLASS. For the first time in my life! I was signed up for Spanish, and then my counselor was all like: "Um, if you want to go to an art school, YOU MIGHT WANT TO TAKE ART" so I was like "HELL YEAH" and now I don't have to ( Read more... )

Well this is from a non-art expert

I think it looks really great (I love how you draw hair so you can see the soft texture in it. I also love the neonish glow to the colors.

Although I am curious to know what the words say even though you claim it is gibberish. :)

The words say things that are extremely lame such as "yesterday was the worst but i had some cake" xD

Nice! You've got a sort of chunky, sketchy style to your lines that I'm fond of. And I like the balance of all the open space at the top with the changing colors, contrasted with the face at the bottom.

I did Studio Art for my junior and senior year. I wasn't planning to go to art school or anything obvs, but I do remember that the kids who were got a lot of help from the teachers. Does your school's program have visitors from art and design colleges? We had a couple of those during senior year. There will be tons of resources for you once you are in a portfolio class.

But yeah. I'm really surprised you've never taken art before! Does your school not offer a lot of classes?

I haven't taken an art class , actually, because of my commitment to band.. It takes up a large chunk of my schedule, and I just haven't had time to fit in in while also getting the required language credits. Now that I actually finished my required Spanish, I have time to take both art and band at the same time!

I am really looking forward to what organized art education has in store! :D
