[Having been to the post office earlier that day, in the early evening Hong Kong can be found sat on the porch of 767 Bunker Street holding a gaohu, basically a modern Cantonese development of the erhu, with a higher pitch, held differently and smaller in size.

He hasn't started to play anything properly yet, only sits there quietly tuning it, with ( Read more... )

[Gaohus haven't been invented for him yet, so his first thought is that Hong Kong somehow got his hands on a erhu.]

Ah, where did you get that?

[He actually pauses in the middle of making grabby hands for it to give Hong Kong a very cold look.]

For what price?

My cellphone.

he feels totally weird without it, but at least he still has his laptop.]

[hi hk you have a one man audience lurking nearby.

don't think he's forgotten that violin car alarm serenade, but he's actually curious to see how well you'll manage with an instrument of your own.]

[yeah he knows you're there being a sneaky babby bat thing

and actually he's stupidly tempted to just try the car alarm thing again, but no, he'll just go on pretending he's unaware of your presence and start to play.]

[a-aww it's a miracle, Hong Kong can play something that doesn't make his ears bleed! after a few moments of listening in silence he ambles from his not-so-effective hiding spot to sit next to him, finishing out the song there instead.]

That was quite pleasant.

You're not very good at hiding.

And thanks.

[Spotting him on his way around and stopping. He's not heard any music that he'd actually like in a while, and this seems at least different.]

[he spots the newcomer looking at him and hesitates with his playing a moment.]

Can I help you?

I'd like to listen a bit, if you don't mind. [He says that, but he doesn't really look like he'd leave if he was told no.]

Sure. [he's not exactly the self-conscious type after all, even if he is a bit out of practice

he plays a bit of some kind of cantonese folk tune, obviously that's gonna be completely different to what iceland is used to, not that hong kong knows there's another one yet]
