warnings: It's morbid, grimdark stuff; don't read this if you'd very much prefer to keep your perception of Demyx as a happy, cheerful fellow.
summary: Nobody seems to realise that there is more to water than it just being that sparkling elixir of life.

Demyx is insanely creepy, why does no-one realize this?

In all seriousness, I have to agree. For all his laziness and apparent incompetence, you still have to remember he's part of the Organisation, and therefore that means he's every bit as creepy and badass (no the two are not mutually exclusive, whatever are you on about? Hehehe...), and that he's every bit as dark and flawed as Xemnas, as Marluxia, as Saix.
Ah well. People tend to shut out his badassery and popularise that perception of him as a bumbling, hyperactive fool. Lies! Lies, I say.
Thanks for reading! ♥♥ (:

Eee, you flatter me so. Thank you muchly for your feedback! Demyx is a terribly foreboding character once you ignore that bumbling-fool act and see him for what he really is, no? Not to mention, the fact that I got to play around with water symbolism and all that was awfully fun, haha.
I'm glad it had such an impact (: I had hoped it would be at least thought-provoking, and, well, it's great that people respond to that.
Thank you for reading and the mem! :D

How interesting. How very twee.
I love this bit. But what does 'twee' mean?
so that Axel will not see the fishhook smile you wear on your face like a second skin.
I like that line too. And I especially love your last line. :3

'Twee' means 'affectedly dainty or quaint', going by Dictionary.com x) I dunno, but after reading Jonathan Stroud again, and seeing British terms crop up, it seems like something Zexion will totally say when he feels like being particularly snarky. Which is always, no? :D
Hehe, using commonplace terms to describe things is very fun indeed! I'm glad the last line has that sorta effect. Just to drive home the point, with great remorseless force, that Demyx is a creepy guy when he feels like it, despite his 'bumbling fool' act. ♥

Oh, I see. Strange. When I tried looking that up, I couldn't find anything. Anyway, thanks! I'll remember that. (Haha, Yes. Zexion, the Always Snarky)
Definitely. I was a little sad that Demyx was such a lazy butt in Days, but there was no evidence to him not being creepy like this. So, it all works out in the end, right? XD

Ahaha, it's a quaint little word in itself, though. I loooove DeadpanSnarker!Zexion. He's too hilarious to not write.
Yeah, that was a bit of a downer, but at least we get to see just how much of a selfish slacker he is, and got a bit more to work off of, though I suppose a lot of people's perceptions of him were thrown way off. But yes, it definitely does!

Yeah, well, sure, he's something of a pacifist, but that's only because he doesn't want to get his hands dirty. He's like Zexion in that respect, except less restrained and quietly conniving about it. That part where he just discards his ruse and is all, 'Silence, traitor' never fails to send chills down my spine. It's a terrifying contrast, that.
'Innocent little DemDem', ugh. To think, back when I first got into the fandom, I used to be part of that demographic.
I think Demyx would definitely be far easier to get along with as compared to the likes of Xaldin and Vexen, but one must not forget that he has these unexplored hidden depths to his character which few, if any, of the fandom realise.
T.S. Eliot was partly an inspiration for this, especially that epic poem of his, The Waste Land -- there was this part called Death By Water, and ( ... )
