The part where Stein is wandering around pre-joining Medusa has to be one of my favorite points in the anime, and it really suits itself well to some exploration between him and Medusa like this. I like the play back and forth of Medusa as a child and an adult (and a snake) -- there's a fluidity between that and how Stein sees his own self in both child form and reflection, as if finding identification with neither. And, of course, the similarities between him and Medusa that make them such a great match!
I'm glad to see this piece; it was a fun read, and there definitely needs to be more Stein/Medusa out there. :D Thank you for posting it!

For sure, that's definitely a part that's left somewhat ambiguous and open for interpretation. Well, sort of. Sure, most of it is happening in Stein's head, but what is really physically happening? I wonder what sort of sight he would have made, lurching around Death City, raving incoherently about being eaten by friends-turned-rabid-dogs and whatnot.
The parallels between them - they're everywhere! x)
Thanks for reading and for the feedback! (: I agree wholeheartedly on that. This pairing deserves more appreciation. There's so much tension and chemistry to play off of, haha x)
