For me, the best Christmas present I've ever received was the realization that my brother would survive a brutal attack he suffered shortly after Thanksgiving ten years ago. Even a month out, there was still the worry that he would succumb to the injuries he suffered that night or that he would die from an infection as a result of them. But, each day that passed was another day that he survived. Each day he lived without any added complications brought him another day closer to healing.

For me, the best present was the year I was free to sleep in. Getting up early on Christmas Day got old for me when I was a teenager and my folks didn't understand when I had no interest in hot chocolate and new sweaters as I was in bed and still tired.

I'm still very dismayed that nobody is taking on the Xmas 60 Scenes. I'd have thought that somebody would have a Black Friday axe to grind somewhere.
