As long as it's like the DVD extras, it would be fine. If the reader has the option of accessing the feature rather than having it forced on them, it would be okay. ~nods~
The bitter cynic in me suspects this is someone's brilliant marketing idea of how to make books more "exciting" for non-readers or people who read infrequently and require something to stimulate their short attention spans beyond words on a page. Make it more like TV and Pop-Up Video!
That is exactly what I was thinking! The MTV-generation version of text. Cuz, you know, a mere story can't possibly keep kids' interests these days. Right?
Hm, that would be a bit like the reviews at the end of a fic, only here it's the reader that gets to initiate contact. It's a weird idea for sure, but intriguing.
Yeah re the book thing - I want to enjoy the book for what it is. I *might* be interested in the authors comments after but I have to admit to being terribly superficial and wouldn't like the pure indulgence of reading to be marred by *sensible* stuff and concrit! LOL
