BIG catch-up: a week late & a dollar short! LOL

Not just a day late, but a whole week! :"> Ah well. What can ya do? At least I'm documenting it, because there is, in fact, a LOT to document, most of it very good stuff that I want to include/remember! :) Sorry to fill up so many screens without the courtesy of an LJ cut, but that feature is malfunctioning YET AGAIN! :( I had an LJ cut here but it ( Read more... )

I love Niles! I used to keep my horse near there, and around Christmas my friends and I would dress up the horses with bells and ribbons and santa hats and ride to downtown Niles. Silly, but fun! Kind of scary to ride along the railroad tracks though. I had a motorcycle for a few years. It was a little Honda Rebel 250 and it was kind of scary to ride on highway 17 but I used to ride on it everyday when I worked at ARP. I still have my license but I don't know if I'll ever have a bike again.

How cool! :) I didn't know you kept your horse in the Niles area once upon a time, and I certainly didn't know about the "equine Christmas parade" you guys used to stage! (heehee) I would've loved to have seen that! Which horse was this, BTW? I'm pretty sure I remember you mentioning having a motorcycle in the past, but I dont' remember the Honda Rebel part. How old were you at the time? You seem more of a horse rider than a MC rider but it's nice you don't discriminate! ;) I've never ridden a MC and I doubt I could, even if my life depended on it! As you know, I don't even ride a bicycle very well, so anything else would be out of the question. *blush* But I sure enjoy being Shawn's passenger!!!

That was Ginger. I am sure we were quite the spectacle.. LOL. One of my friends from college was from Fremont and had her horse at that ranch. Eventually I moved Ginger to that ranch too, and then our (yours & mine) mutual friend CJ bought her when I graduated and took the most awesome care of her for many years until she passed away. I had the bike from about 24 to almost 30 - I sold it before I moved back out to CA after grad school (the first time). I liked the small one because it was low enough for my short legs & light enough that I could handle it if I needed to. It was lots of fun but it was never my primary mode of transportation. It sounds like you guys have lots of fun on that bike! You sure look like you do in your photos!

Hi Wilhelmina! Yes, that's me in the picture. I look different because I'm wearing protective clothing for riding the motorcycle. And I'm wearing a hat because the motorcycle helmet fits very tightly and makes my hair look messy and terrible afterwards! LOL! When Shawn and I go somewhere after we take our helmets off, I have to "hide" underneath some type of hat, like a baseball cap! (I love that cap in the picture because it's my fave colour!)

Thanks for looking at my pictures, and thank you for saying you will read the text later. There are several things I wrote about in the text that I know you enjoy reading about and writing about. :) I hope your week is starting out well and happy. I chose this userpic for commenting to you, because I know how much you love to see flowers "waking up" and coming out of the snow, because it means Spring is coming!

Heya! :) The caterer, DJ, etc. are for Shawn's and my wedding, which will be this June. I'm sure you knew we were engaged, since we've been engaged for a year now and it was all over my Facebook feed for days afterwards. <3 :"> Including pix of the ring, pix of us at the B&B where he proposed, etc. But you probably didn't know that the wedding is in June -- sorry 'bout that! But now you know! To get caught up to speed, you can visit our wedding blog at sharishawn.livejournal.com
