Yahoo Mail died today?! Anyone?

GRRR!! :( From 2:39 p.m. to 8:06 p.m. today (that's Pacific Time Zone), I received NOTHING in my Yahoo Mail inbox! That's a period of MORE THAN 5 HOURS! With the amount of email that I get each and every hour, there's NO way in hell that 5+ hours would pass in which ZERO messages come in. So, I feel safe to assume they had a big SNAFU ( Read more... )

Mine's not out... but! For the past 24 hours Yahoo says I have an unread message, but I cannot get to it or clear it.

This is why I loves my gmail.

I do have a Yahoo addy, but I almost never use it (come to think of it, I should go and delete all the spam that's probably piled up in there...).

I think I'm one of the few people who doesn't care much for Gmail. I find the whole format/organization of it to be distracting and not as intutive or easy to navigate as Yahoo Mail. I dunno... maybe it's just me. *chuckle*

Um, your mail will either be queued on their delivering mail server, or it will be resent at various times by the sending server up repeatedly until they get the acknowledgment that it was actually sent. It's likely that your server acknowledged the mail, and it's being stored on a hard drive somewhere in Yahoo's data center until it can be delivered directly to your account.

Have you checked your quota? Rare that people hit quotas nowadays, but it could stop mail delivery for a while.

Yikes! :( That sounds like the type of unreliability and lameness I'd expect from AOL, not Yahoo! I sure hope that your brother's photos arrived in your inbox in time for your deadline. I'm an optimist, so I'll assume they did. :)
