I love squirrels...they are cute little buggers. I was lying in bed talking to Chan on the phone the other night and one of them ran across the wall that seperates the back of my building from the apartment complex next door. I couldn't help but kind of squeal. :)

Awww, squirrels. :D One of my earliest memories is from a camping trip - I was 3 or so - and a chipmunk hopped into the tent with me. It grabbed an Oreo and started chowing down. I think pictures exist somewhere, or they did at one time. I'm going to have to ask my mom about that now...

That's hilarious - sounds like the chipmunk already knew that it loved Oreos and went for yours after detecting the smell!! :) Did it hang out with you for a while after that? From what I've read about chips, they're shy by nature BUT are also extremely curious and very easily tamed. And I'm sure food is a good motivator. I'd love to see your pix if you can find them. BTW, I've also read that chipmunks are technically considered a type of ground squirrel. Interesting, eh?

Sorry you are sick. I hope you can get some allergy medicine.

We also have the Far side in our paper but I have not seen this. He, he, the Far side squirrels is so funny- :-)
Thank you for the new squirrel pictures. Cute!
I'm at work and took this picture this morning
http://www.acc.umu.se/~wschedin/ekorre-06-03-06.jpg

The co-worker who cares for the food said it are peanuts in the basket and on the ground, but without the... (how to say it in English) without the peel.

Have to work now
My mood is "in a hurry and happy":)

Be well soon HUGS

You have The Far Side comic strip in Sweden? That's cool! :) Do you have the old comics or is Gary Larson making new ones? I remember he stopped doing The Far Side many years ago (at least in the U.S. he did), because there were all sorts of articles in the newspapers about how people were going to miss him.

Thanks for sharing your squirrel picture. It was cute as always. :) It's so nice of you and your co-workers to feed the squirrels in winter! I think the English word you were looking for is "shell". I always buy the non-shelled peanuts for my squirrel friends, because it's fun to watch and listen to them cracking open the shell to get at the nuts inside. Also, I think the nuts stay more fresh if the shell is left on.

Don't worry about saying "peel", because I knew what you meant. :) And that's definitely the correct word for the outside part of fruits like apples, oranges, bananas, etc. (Well, of course it's OK to eat the peels on apples but I don't usually like it -- it always feels tough to chew!)
