Racial Hatred

I just reported a community I stumbled across called Racial Hatred to the powers that be for disseminating racial hate. I stumbled across them because they share a similar interest in Socialism (how ironic). I was shocked by it, I haven't come across real racial hatred like this before outside of films. Maybe I've led a sheltered life

3. Unfortunately, as is said, freedom of speech only protects the speech we don't like. Granted, LJ is a private institution and as such has no obligation to print or disseminate anything it doesn't approve of. Granted, the stuff found at the aforementioned LJ is repulsive. But I, personally, would rather see a blog community that doesn't censor this sort of stuff -- not because I condone it, but because I appreciate the free exchange of ideas a more open community engenders.

People who's speech impinges on other peoples more basic human rights, ie. the rights to life, the rights to live free from fear abuse and hatred, have forfeited the right to free speech. Perhaps the overemphasis of the right to free speech causes more problems than it solves. Whilst free speech is important, it is not of overriding importance and other rights should supercede it.
