Most people remember Doctor Who for three things - Tom Baker, wobbly sets and the way it disappeared up its own arse in the 80s.
So, so true!
I was sceptical about Captain Jack when I first heard about him, I thought it was the usual; stick an American in so we get some American viewers but I absolutely adore him! He's so stereotypically American - which was obviously done on purpose - that it takes away the cringe factor and leaves you with just a really funny character who plays off both the Doctor and Rose fantastically. I love them as a threesome (take that in any way you see fit) and I'd actually be prepared to say that the two of them together could be right up there with some of the Doctor’s best companions.
