I'm glad I got it out of the way. And regardless of the screwing up, I really did like the soloing better than dancing with a group. Mostly because I have some kind of very stressful phobia about crashing into one of the other dancers when I'm with a troupe and going down in a fireworks-like blossom of flying beads and sequins. I'm constantly looking around and going 'Ok, Jessi is on my left and OH SHIT WHERE'S GRACE? I'M ABOUT TO CRASH INTO HER I KNOW IT. Ok, she's behind me on the left. And yes, when my teacher has stage time to fill she generally throws together a random combination of her students and we perform group routines under the name "Yasmina's Yems." When I dance at SCA events, there's usually an open floor with live musicians, so it's me and 15 other dancers, each doing our own thing, but sometimes using tribal queuing to improvise some group work.
