I think there are quite a few people out there that do nice things just because it gives them that warm, fuzzy feeling of doing something that helped another person. Granted, a lot--if not most--people will do "good things" for some ulterior motive, to butter the person up and get something nice for themselves...But it's the people that honestly help out someone out of the goodness of their hearts that makes both people in the situation come out feeling nice.
So even if you're donating blood with the though of "Hey, I could be saving three lives right now!", I'm sure those three lives are happy that someone thought to give their blood to help them live. So the lot of you win.[/PhilosophicalMoment]
