Clearing up the Business of Old Lady

I do have to apologize for my lack of apologys at my last update. It was less than stellar, especially after I made you wait so long. The only real explaination I have is that I was working on a job as a graphic designer. My site was supposed to be my portfolio, and I'd rather have my black and white manga attempt at the forefront. Lousy excuse ( Read more... )

Ok so I must say that the two comics i was able to read were good, I liked both the art/coloring and the writing. I also envy your ability to do shading that well. What program do you use?
I was only able to read 2 comics because either there is something wrong with your page or the computer I am on sucks.

Any-hoo I will try to contact you some time about my web page idea when I have a few more people and a better idea of what exactly i plan on doing.

I didn't notice (I have the bad habit of forgetting that no one talks formally)- but that makes sense. *nods* And it's a good explanation... makes sense.

Also, as to the "all caps" thing (that you mentioned below the newest (to date) flunkies update)...
I don't think you should have to do the all caps on yours if you don't have to. I've always been a bit annoyed by it, no clue why.
Is there some requirement that you HAVE to post all caps or is it just that you think Flunkies would look more professional if you used all caps?

There's no specific format for this kind of thing. There are no real requirements for webcomics, besides updates. My fellow panel jockey, Alex Kolesar of No Need for Bushido, uses normal case and doesn't even do speech bubbles. So, yeah, I guess it's mostly an image thing. I like the idea of seeming more professional. Still, I guess I'm a novelist at heart because I hate not being able to capitalize specific words for emphasis. "I reached in my pocket and took out the key" or "I reached in my pocket and took out the Key" Sounds a bit more like a fantasy story, right?

Yes, yes it does. I think you should stick with normal case if you think that it'll be better... Actually I think you should stick with normal case either way, but it's yer comic. ^^'

"the Key" sounds more like a fantasy story because only fantasy games capitalize stuff that aren't (real) names or titles. As you can tell I prefer to use a cursive style for emphasizing words, which probably comes from the fact that most of the books I read do it that way. In comics I'm used to seeing bold lettering used for emphasis. Maybe if it's the "Key of all Keys" it'd deserve some capitalization. The German language capitalizes all objects though. Der Schlüssel! :D

But enoough about your desire to irk me to a slow, painful death with your desire for incessant capitalization. I came here to tell you that your new self image looks quite nice (ok, awesome). Perhaps not quite as muscular as Simon, but I'm sure that you're getting there. And Simon can't blast fire out of his bare hands! Or can he?

If your webcomic sported art of that quality you'd be worshipped like a king. And after three weeks (or months, I don't know how long time it took you to make that image!) of no updates you'd have the angry mob outside your gate, with ( ... )

"apologys" isn't a word. The proper spelling is "apologies".
