Guess What? BOOKS!

The nice thing about reading multiple books at once is that you're almost always finishing one.  The bad thing about reading multiple books at once is that you're almost always finishing one and people think you have no life.  Also, you forget which one is which sometimes. o_O

I like reading multiple books at once (at times). Right now I'm sort of reading three: The Historian, 2nd Chance by James Patterson, and The Sandman Vol. 1: Prelude and Noctures by Neil Gaiman...

I find that reading multiple books kind of keeps you on your toes and allows you to dive into different worlds all at the same time. :)

hee :D The Historian is awesome, imo. It spooked me out when I was reading it at night. I'd turn on NPR for background happy noise to help block out the haunting images :)

I like your explanation of multiple-book reading - I always just say that I'm ADD ;)

You are the first person that has said they liked the Historian. All the reviews I've read for it, most people thought it was crap! I'm only about 100 pages into it, but I think it gets better the further I read.

Well, my explanation is really a cover up for ADD! :)

I started reading Mothers and Other Monsters right before vacation. The very first story (the Hell Money one) made me want to read it aloud to someone. Good stuff. I need to finish it soon.

Ooh yeah. That first one is good, too. I was just so overwhelmed by Nekropolis, I forgot about the earlier good ones. I have to go back and read some others, as well, because there were a couple in there that I couldn't quite decide on first reading what was up and what was down - though sometimes that kind of indecisive ending is what makes fantastic reading :)

I loved Mothers and Other Monsters (thanks Rose! In retrospect, my less than unconditional enthusiasm about this book seems really dumb). I read it from end to end, alternating between wistfully wishing there was more of a particular story, and wanting to go on and see what other worlds and ways of revealing them Maureen had up her sleeve. Seriously good stuff!

OMFG - I swear, having my very own personal Ranger (WHOM I MUST NEVER EVER DO THE RUMPSHAKE WITH EVAH (and don't read too much into the usage of that word)) is fabulous.

*sigh*

High Five was so long ago, I think her new one is out today. I also think it was probably Joe as she and Ranger haven't actually slept together yet, hence the awesomeness of the sexual tension in the books.

A rec for you: The Ginger Tree.
