They are roller coaster boys aren't they? It almost seems like it's Flack in Danny's role of constantly vascellating and fighting with Mac and how the sexual tension between them manifests in fights and arguments and grumpishness.

I like how Flack has to *check* and see if Mac is covering any injury-- even though he knows that everyone would notice if it was something major. And that Mac is his usual dolt self and doesn't get WHY someone else is upset over him.

*nodnod* Here, what happened with Moran is still so fresh that Flack's anger has a different tenor than it usually would. I think they'll settle down, though. Plus, they still don't have Mac and Danny's sulk stage--Flack immediately and directly confronts Mac.

I like how Flack has to *check* and see if Mac is covering any injury-- even though he knows that everyone would notice if it was something major.

It was an idea that crossed my mind... months ago I guess, and it really stuck. On a logical level, Flack knows Mac is fine, but he just heard about it so it *feels* like it just happened. And Flack needs some sort of physical reassurance after a close call like that-- the theory is they all do, really.

Oh, this is lovely and so *aching*; it captures both Mac's state of mind (post-"Dove," and for S1 in general) and his relationship with Flack perfectly. There's also a wonderful sense of all the relationships in the lab: Mac and Stella, and Aiden, and Danny. And Stella's keen awareness of his state of mind -- there's that psychic connection, right there.

I like Mac's attempts to recognize himself, to *orient* himself, and the way Flack barrels into him about the case from "Hush," the way he *touches* him -- it has a lot in common with the way he'd frisk or mandhandle a suspect, and it seems this is the only way he can express concern, the only way either he or Mac will allow it to happen. This is what they have to substitute for anything more gentle.

As for names for this 'verse...Comradesverse? Not that, exactly, but something...*wave* Soldierly.

Thank you. I think one of the reasons I'm so obsessed with finding a name for this 'verse is that I can't simply call it the Mac/Flack 'verse because there's so much more going on with it than that. Danny's relationship with both of them is of course going to be of increasing importance, but Stella's very important to both of them as well... and so on. First time I contemplated Mac/Flack, I thought "their love is very team oriented" and it's proving to be quite literally true.

the way he *touches* him -- it has a lot in common with the way he'd frisk or mandhandle a suspect, and it seems this is the only way he can express concern, the only way either he or Mac will allow it to happen. They don't quite know what to do with each other yet... (i think they start to figure it out in the post-What You See story). What happened with Moran is still fresh here, so Flack's still angry about that on top of his frustration that Mac almost got flattened in the first place, he wasn't there at the docks with Mac and Stella, and it took ( ... )
