title: Steady with: (pre) Flack/Stella rated: PG herein: five stages of physical intimacy - hugging disclaim: me no own note: ep-related to “All Access”
Oh...*hearts* So lovely and sad and almost physically painful. Flack's fear and anger for Stella, and how much he hurts for her, come through so acutely here. And the way he leaves Mac and Stella to talk alone. His gratitude, at the end, that Stella *did* kill the son of a bitch, is just perfect. There are connections being made here between them, but there's also a deep sense of loneliness, of being alone, and it fits so well.
Thank you. I must've re-watched the end of the ep at least twenty times while writing this. Though I think the Flack moment in it that kills me the most is his reaction when she says "maybe Frankie broke down the door."
Neither would want to think of it like this since Stella is who lived through it all, but it would have been a very difficult day for both Mac or Flack as well.... I was trying to figure out the timeline of the episode, and Flack must've stayed at the hospital with Stella for well over twelve hours. (Probably closer to fifteen to eighteen hours.) So Flack got a real close and extended look at how badly this shook her.
Oh yeah, I remember spending way too much time trying to sort out the timing when I was writing my fic on the ep. I like that it was Flack there throughout and how little pressure he put--the 'feel like chatting?' line was perfect. While the MS in me wanted Mac there, I also know that the CSI wouldn't be at the hospital, it would be the Detective and she'd want Mac finding out what she couldn't at her place.
ANyway, love your fic. You caught his worry well. And again with the senses like in the other ficlet. I could smell the astringent, ointment, etc. Do you plan a companion one with Stella thinking post-finale?
Thank you. Stella, Flack, and Mac--in any combination and any kind of relationship(s)--I've decided that when it comes down to it they're just fellow soldiers.
They *are* his people; Flack's very protective of his friends.
I'm not completely sold on Mac/Flack yet..... I figure all I need is for someone to write the right story and then I will be. Stella/Mac and Stella/Flack, totally. And the fact that Flack (and Eddie) are BEYOND cute. :-)
hello...i always read your stories on csi new york fiction and i love your work...i usually get frustrated with really short pieces cuz i always want more - but yours are very poignant and sensory...and the pairings always grab me...
just wanted to let you know i'm friending you and look forward to reading more!
that was terrific. this: Outside the streets are shiny wet and reflect headlights, streetlights, stoplights. He doesn’t remember it raining today. He remembers the way her hands shook. is just such a perfect description of how everything blurs when you go through a traumatic day like he's just had. loved it.
Thanks. Yeah, I imagine it must've been very hard on Flack to sit with Stella all day and help her remember everything that happened--though he wouldn't even want to think of it like that.

And poor Flack-- he just wants to be a protector. The nerdsquad is *his* people, no matter what the other cops say.

I think that's what he was thinking. And I think this entire piece nailed that scene and the thoughts and feelings behind it so well. Great job.
