Wow...I'm just speechless. I don't read much of anything of a sexual nature or anything outside of Flack/Danny slash for the NY fandom, but...wow. I'm definitely going to keep up with your writing from now on.
Wonderful, so, so wonderful. lets her think she's won. I want to be more coherent but all I can think about is how sad this is, and how beautiful it is too. (He could have done it then just as easily as he did tonight, and maybe everything would be different, and maybe nothing would - that final clause balances the whole sentence, and points out that the trouble isn't with Stella, it's with Mac. Being with Stella might not change the other relationship.)
Oh...oh my god. I'm speechless over how good this is, over the pervasive sense of hurt and loss that twines through every sentence. It's gorgeous, in a very painful way, and Hawkes' hurt as well as Stella's anger is visceral; it's there in everything they do and every time they touch each other.

Those two sentences just killed me. I mean, the whole thing did, but that just drove the knife home.
Thank you. I was really struck by Hawkes' interaction with both Mac and Stella during the first several episodes of S2, so I've had a fair bit of time to think about them. ;)
