Elton John and Billy Joel, Face 2 Face tour, Key Arena

Feb 07, 2010 01:17

Last May, I posted a kvetch when I discovered that Elton and Billy were touring together and would be appearing in Seattle. I kvetched mainly because I didn't have the money to buy tickets and I was afraid that this opportunity wouldn't come along again. tbclone47 picked up a gauntlet I hadn't meant to throw down, and made it possible for both of us, as it ( Read more... )

Awesome. I've seen both several times, but never the Face 2 Face tours. One song I don't recall hearing is Madman Across the Water; I'm jealous.

This tour comes up frequently but not inevitably in the bootlegging community. I'll keep a particular eye out for this night, in case I can provide you with an additional souvenir. (But not, unfortunately, "Souvenir" :-)

I've seen Billy several times, but never Elton, so this had all sorts of goodness for me. And yeah--seeing Elton perform "Madman Across the Water" was very cool, even if his back-up vocalists had to hit the high notes for him. :-)

If you should happen to find this night somewhere, oh, that would be amazing. Yes, thank you!

Wow ... sounds like an amazing night. Color me just a bit jealous. Like you, I've always wanted to see one of the Face 2 Face shows and I'm afraid this might be the last time it happens. Also like you, I'm out of regular work, so a ticket is an expenditure I can't really rationalize. Unlike you, I don't have a anyone who's in a position to make it happen anyway.

Your comment about this being your souvenir immediately threw Billy's song "Souvenir" into my head. (One of my personal favorites.)

I'm going to stop now, before my comment starts to ramble ... but thanks for being "the kind of dork" who writes down the play list and recounts it with such wonderful memories/insights.

I wanted to go to this, but I just couldn't justify spending the money. That said, I'm glad you went, and I'm very glad that it rocked. It makes me feel less like I missed out.
