jackwilliambell has been gently pushing encouraging me to start playing my guitar again. Said encouragement has included his purchasing new strings, a chromatic tuner and a string winder for said guitar, as well as gifting me with one of his three guitar stands so that the guitar is out in the living room where I can't forget it and where it stares at me, ( Read more... )

First time I ever heard it, it wasn't Bruce. A friend of mine, Tommy Williams, used to be in a band on Long Island called Mazarin. They did a lot of covers, and "Thunder Road" was a particular favorite. It was a revelation to hear Bruce do it, but Mazarin's version did not suck in any way whatsoever. :-)

I adore Vincent (Starry Starry Night). I still don't get all the words right (I've never sat down and studied them), but it's one of my favorite songs ever. Even just as an instrumental, it's gorgeous.
