You don't want to know what kind of day I'm having. Trust me.

Mike McGinn. I'm strongly in favor of him, ever since seeing him at the 36th Dems Candidate Forum at the start of the month. His answers to the questions were direct, honest, practical, and well-articulated. He spoke of his experience with getting the Parks Levy on the ballot, getting sidewalks into Greenwood, and community organizing.

Mallahan was vague, platitudinous, and wandering. He rarely looked at the audience, stood far apart from McGinn, and just seemed to be phoning it in.

Here are publicola.net's endorsements at various levels (I'd already voted by the time they posted them):

(The link is to their cheat sheet, but each endorsement links to a post about why.)

Today's another "Who the hell can I possibly choose to vote for Seattle mayor?" day, because really, we're all screwed no matter what. Your thoughts on that one?

I am going to have to force myself to vote at all- because of my very, very strong dislike for the all-mail-in ballot process. We've lost the ability to truly cast a secret ballot, and I just feel like I'm playing someone else's rigged game. The top two primary isn't helping either, ugh.

I'm going to try to force myself to vote because I feel strongly about I-71 (in favor) and I can't in good conscience let that go by.

FWIW- I'll either undervote for Mayor or I'll vote for Mallahan. I can't seriously believe in the guy who wants to be mayor because he "used to oppose a tunnel that isn't under the purview of the mayor, but now doesn't" and whose supporters keep telling me that he rides a bike. Mallahan doesn't particularly impress me, but he at least strikes me as professional.

- got an xml page back from localization today that had been magically turned into crappy html with inline formatting. after i sat with a native speaker and we fixed it by hand so that i could post it, we discovered that the problem was that it had been opened and saved in Apple's TextEdit. *headdesk* text editors are not supposed to change anything. pure fail ( ... )

I voted for McGinn, for the reasons many of the others listed. If you want entertainment, I can forward you four or five 8-10 page research papers on English stuff and you can tell me which one is best. Okay, maybe "entertainment" is too strong a word.... :)
