We set up the kotatsu a couple of weeks ago, and I've been hiding out under that in the evenings and mornings with a hot cup of tea.

I don't have summer/winter clothing separated, but I'm definitely reaching for the long sleeved shirts!

Kotatsu? I am unfamiliar with this word....

It's a Japanese heated table. AKA me and the other half's compromise between my need to blast heat, and his shuddering at our electric bill and sweating like crazy because he tolerates/prefers much lower temperatures than I do ;) We figure a winter or two and it'll pay for itself.

I basically live under it when the temperature dips below 60. So do the cats.

I don't even know what most of those things mean. After all, if I'm still wearing cargo shorts, how bad can it be?

I haven't started wearing the winter coat yet (the long, commute-worthy cashmere one) but the leather jacket has been taken out and worn, so it's Autumn for certain....

also, for those of us whom 10/31 means World Fantasy rather than Halloween, pumpkins and costumes are pretty much non-starters. :-(

See, that's the one reason I always resented World Fantasy. They pick the date of the second most popular holiday in the United States, a secular holiday that involves more fun than a barrel of monkeys, and make the convention a mainly business show with no costuming. It's just wrong.

I am trying to hold off on turning the heat on, but I may need to concede by the end of the week... the nights have been in the low 30's.

I understand. I've been trying to delay turning on the heat, too.

You forgot: "Brushing your pet's winter coat out of your coat", but that doesn't apply to me anyway.

And apples for me are pretty much year round.
