Aw, heck. I hate it when people are in the position of not being able to afford to be sick. That's just wrong.

Welcome to Microsoft contracting. It's the hourly wage thing, right? I don't work, I don't get paid. With Memorial Day and other personal stuff lately, I've missed more work that I would have preferred. I wanted one week for the firs time in several, where I wouldn't be leaving early. I'm probably going to have to, feeling the way I do today.

Oh, I quite know the feeling...every time my poor husband gets sick, my first thought is, "But, but, we can't afford for you to be sick." And it's wrong the work dynamic has changed to something that views people as a disposable resource with no more value than an ash tray.
