You'll love Edgefield. The cost of the restaurant has gone up, but it is a very neat place. Do check out the various shacks--there's one that features some nice whiskies, up by the par 3 golf course. The pubs have classic McMenamin's pub food, and there's all sorts of other neat stuff there (glassblower, etc). We spent a New Year's there once and have gone out there for golf, business functions, concerts and lectures.

I don't know that there will be time to enjoy or explore any of it, frankly. The work schedule is pretty tight. But I shall do my best. :-)

That's interesting: I had a few problems with Thor, probably because the protagonist kept doing things to make my "get a clue" meter swing towards the red (blame it on my being a little brother), but I absolutely bought and paid for Captain America all the way from the start. (The Stark males: sleezy operators in ALL time periods!) When it comes to The Avengers I kept thinking that Tony felt what Loki really needed was more confidence in what he was doing. And the interplay between Stark and Banner came off to me as between a guy who just has to show he's the smartest one in the room vs. a guy who knows exactly what might happen if he gets wrapped up in trying to prove he's the smartest one in the room but is not ever going to play the dummy--which drives Tony to work even harder. Tremendously well done.
