Amsterdam Day 2: Rijksmuseum and . . . Walking

I had mapped out my day's itinerary via tram and bus with the help of the kind gentleman who switched me into a nicer room the night before. He flirted with me while we talked and tried to give me the best advice on how to get to my destinations. What a lovely experience with the hotel gentleman!

My Rijksmuseum experience was much like yours (they're STILL renovating?!). I was stunned by the Rembrandts. Then, later on during our trip, I saw sunsets that could have come right out of a Rembrandt painting (and took pictures of some, the atmosphere finally came through).

The Vermeers also made a big impression on me. Reproductions just don't catch the light correctly, even the ones in the museum store.
