I recall when one of those Mars rovers was sending Breathtaking Video Footage back to earth, some CNN reporter stuck a microphone in the face of some organizer at an sf con someplace, and asked them what they thought of it.

The poor sod essentially froze (god only knows what the interview was supposed to have been about in the first place) and said, essentially, Yeah, everybody here's pretty happy about it!

Pretty happy, how ever many years on. I don't have cable any more.
