Books: Yesterday I finally finished reading The Life of Elizabeth I by Alison Weir, a detailed, almost novelistic biography of Henry VIII's daughter. The depth and breadth of Weir's research is remarkable (as has been true of all of her work that I've read), and the narrative very engaging. They're not retiring and I'm not old and sick, but they're not bringing much that's new to their shows--at least not that I'm seeing. And there's a point at which I'm not willing to pay to see something I've seen several times before. Doesn't mean it's not worth seeing for someone else, but I've kind of done it by now.

I know what you mean. I saw the FKB so many times when I was a kid. I thought about getting tickets for the current show, but as you say, I've already seen their act. And it looks like only one of the originals is left. I remember when the first of the original guys original guys from when I was a kid [Heh. I just went to the wiki link. I didn't realize their act was older than me!] had to drop out and be replaced. After that, it just didn't seem the same.
