IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT

Jan 04, 2011 10:20

OMG... OMG;__; The blackbirds and fishies! Not only that, but I guess people are taking these sorts of coinciding events as signs of the end of the world. Kind of creepy, don't you think? At first I was more upset by the photos of the dead animals, but then I started getting a little creeped out when a Christian radio host started predicting ( Read more... )

Wow, wow, wow.

So they suddenly changed the date of the end of the world AGAIN? And all the Christians shall be saved and not anyone else. I will treat this as the other hundred million doomsday predictions that have happened in my own lifetime. lol Christian bigots.

Well, other religions say the same thing about being saved, so it's not just Christians who do. It's a big thing with all religions, really, and it makes sense why they would teach that only those who practice their religion will be saved in the afterlife. I try not to rule out any religion's verities, personally, no matter how ridiculous, but I may just wind up being doomed in the afterlife for being open-minded about different ideas. BD;;

but yeah lollll. Kinda hard to predict the end of the world, huh? Still: Falling birds everywhere! That alone would send me shaking. So would seeing tens of thousands of dead fish floating along the shore. Mostly I'm just sad that it happened.

know it happens in a lot of religions but I think the matter I'm trying to say is that it's all just severe bigotry thinking only people in their religion will be saved as they pull another doomsday date from their ass because bizarre things have happened as of late...When Alabama people clearly stated as bizarre and horrifying as it was, it's not a new thing to them to have them coming the New Year.

I'm gonna echo one of the comments on that article, we won't know when the world will end and I think putting a date on it is silly.

But it's nice to know that there's another here who is open-minded about things 8D. Open-mindedness is pretty cool right there, here here. ♥

The birds and fish thing really IS upsetting though. They theorize that it would be due to either fireowrks or high altitude hail for the birds. As for the fish, new diseases are probably affecting the breed of fish...

Yeah, I read all those comments, but it's still kind of fun freaking yourself out, isn't it? I don't honestly believe any of it.

I... well, it sometimes affects me a little to hear Christians telling people on the streets that they will scorch up in eternal hellfire for not believing or being strong of faith, admittedly. I mean... if I were a god, I wouldn't let that happen. I'd understand why people didn't believe in me. I love people and it wouldn't make a bit of difference. Suffering for eternity? That hardly sounds fair.
And then I start thinking of all the people that were nice to me and all the really young children who can't believe and all the people I love burning up and it makes me want to cry. I can't tell anyone why I begin crying because they'll scoff at me since it's pretty ridiculous, actually, but... haha, I guess I'm telling you now, aren't I? WOW I SURE DO LOOK COOL RIGHT NOW.

OH my dad was talking to me about that today. He says the verdict is probably high-altitude hail.

EITHER THAT OR THE END OF THE WORLD I GUESS.

Liz* 8)

YEAH IT'S SOME KIND OF NORMAL BUT... WEIRD OCCURRENCE FLOATING OUT THERE. What an oxymoronic situation. I personally think either fireworks or hail. No poison was found, but I don't think they're done examining the carcasses just yet.

It's as I've been saying for... a while now! The world's been ending since 2000 in preparation for 2012. 12 years seems like long for us but given how long the earth's been around that is super sudden.

Whoooooaaaaaa

And not only that, but the human race has taken on startling unprecedented changes in the past century. Infrastructures, structures, and superstructures have changed dramatically with globalization and it's never done that before so we don't have any idea where it could go. oweeooo.

it. doesn't sound related? But it's still a huge and rapid change!

We've brought about our own demise? GOD DAMN. But I'm not surprised.

ALSO don't worry about the May thing, apparently that guy used a really obtuse a batshit crazy math formula to predict it, and used the same formula to predict the world's end back in 1994. I CAN'T GIVE HIM MUCH CREDIT AFTER THAT...

2012 though is serious business

Me neither. As nice as globalization is. (Without globalization, I wouldn't be talking to you!) But it's not like we can go backwards. Progress like this can only go forwards.

Yeah, I don't believe a lick of that. People are always out to predict the end of the world. :T

Actually I always thought maybe they got lazy and decided not to keep the calendar going. Or they just put it off for a while but then the Mayan civilization diminished before that could happen so OOPS. Guess your fancy calendar can't be completed without the Mayans that were involved!

The only reason this is big news is because of the internet.

We have this huge book at home called "Unexplained Mysteries" and they have a whole section of "Shit that fell from the sky" (worded much nicer, mind you).

One lady had spiders rain from the sky for a few hours over her house. Just her house. SPIDERS.

It's still interesting, internet hype or not. ;___; ghh so many animals though. Imagine walking down THAT street!

uh.... did she have spiders living in the clouds above her house? ?_? I hope there were trees around because that might make sense. Otherwise that woman has batshit weather.
