You can read about the curses all you want but it's still weird when you first experience them. I'm glad the slapping was because of a curse or otherwise I'd be pretty worried about you, Dean. And Ivy, sorry about raining everywhere yesterday ( Read more... )

Taking the chance to live a real life, and enjoy opportunities I never had in my own world. I try not to think so much about the future, which is liberating in a way.

Completely agree with you about the curses, by the way.

My so-called friends have kept recordings of me singing during that curse, but it's not very likely anyone else will be hearing it again without a really good bribe.

The ice cream flavor curse was sort of fifty-fifty, really. Depending on whether you were smart enough to stay indoors where you couldn't get randomly licked by people.

I'm glad I don't have friends like that.

Ice cream curse where you got licked by people?

Oh, they're wonderful people. Just sometimes on the mischievous side.

The ice cream flavor was the curse -- if you were affected, your skin tasted of an ice cream flavor. Mine was green tea. The licking was just people who've obviously got issues with the idea of personal space.

Isn't that what friends are for?

I don't think I'd let someone get close enough to lick me, curse day or not.

True enough. I guess that's how you really know they're friends, that you can prank each other and still know they'll speak to you the next day.

Good thing you weren't around for the hugging curse.

I'll have to remember that's how you determine how good a friend is. The bigger the prank and the more they forgive you the better the friend?

Hugging curse?

Well of course. Though you should probably know I've sometimes got a warped sense of what makes a good prank, so be careful if you decide to get into a contest with me.

People got stuck together, for the entire twenty-four hours. If you hugged someone, that was it. Best be getting to know them well.

I'll keep that in mind, but I'm not really the pranking type.

I probably wouldn't have been affected.

Best way to be sure you get affected by the very next curse that would be awfully embarrassing for you? Say things like that. I learned my lesson, never tempt the deities with a chance for mischief.

Well I think I'm pretty safe from most hugging curses.

Can't be too sure, Ianto was an unwitting hugging victim and had to spend the whole day with his arms around a friend.

I really hope that no one tries to randomly hug me.

I wouldn't count that any less likely than someone trying to randomly kill you or sell you something. It's an odd sort of place we're living in.

The first two I've had some experience with but they never involved the hugging. I guess this place isn't like back home though.

No matter where you're from, this place is guaranteed not to be like back home. And I'm just now realizing that I've had much more experience with the first than the second. I'm not quite sure what that says about me.
