Oscars...

Don't ever do that again. I'm a big James Franco fan and have enjoyed some of Anne Hathaway's movies but they were so not suited to host the Oscars. It was just very flat this year. Some of the skits were just painful to sit through (especially that autotune segment).

If James Franco wasn't high I would be very surprised.

I think they were trying to appeal to a "younger demographic" this year (even the hosts said so at the start of the Oscars), but I'm pretty sure it backfired on them.

I thought it was ok, but I haven't voluntarily watched all of the Oscars in years before last night. Mostly it was kinda predictable with very few gasp moments. Although, I didn't think Christian Bale was going to win and when he did, I was surprised he wasn't on one of his crazy rampages.

I did not think that CB was going to get that Oscar either. That was a huge shock for me. It was nice that he poked fun at himself and his past behavior.

I had more fun watching "old folks" like Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin hosting the show. Steve Martin had my all time favorite Oscar moment when he was roasting on Russell Crowe.

LOL I thought the same thing. The skits were really bad and James Franco was either high or verrry tired (since he goes to college in New York and had to fly to LA for the show). Or maybe he was both high and tired. Really sad.

You make a great point. Balancing school and work is really tough but I would hope his professors would understand that he had to host the Oscars. Now I'm leaning towards him being high and tired.

T_T I didn't care to watch. I'm glad Miss Portman won after going crazy and killing herself in Black Swan.

I'm glad she won too. She did a phenomenal job in that movie.
