There really wasn't a whole lot of stuff outside this year. The biggest complain I got from everyone (from those who got to go inside the con as well as those like me who couldn't) is that it seemed smaller this year. A lot of people weren't happy that there was less swag inside and outside the con, and a few people who were only there on Sunday were pissed the Vikings thing over by the Convention Center trolley station was being taken down before the con ended. It was really weird this year.

I think part of the reason it seemed smaller is that they let in more and more people every year, so a smaller and smaller percentage of the con attendees can actually fit into any given place at once.

That wasn't what I meant, not exactly. Let me try and explain better. When I went on Sunday last year, there were more people giving out swag, more people in line for the stuff outside the con...there was still a crush of people. This year on Sunday, things were packing up before noon. Like, my editor and I wanted video from the Viking thing and when we got there at 11:30 is was mostly dismantled. It was like walking through a regular Sunday at the Gaslamp crowds wise this Sunday. That's what I mean by smaller. It's like most of the companies and movies and stuff didn't care about anyone who couldn't buy a ticket. I know inside the con it was probably different, but outside? It really sucked this year.
