So... do you guys think these machines are even safe to use? What if whoever's in charge around here is monitoring them?

I...I don't know. But...Why would he tell me to go to...a gentlemen's club? [Just a hint of the fluster, there. No flashbacks to stories her granny told her, no, no, not at all.]

Because he's a dumbass, and a pervert. I don't get this place at all...

You talked to him too, though, right? I mean, what is it with the...innuendoes?

...And why do I think Granny would like him?

...jeez, she would, wouldn't she? Maybe she should get kidnapped by these people, she might be able to get through to them.

It's a possibility, especially since these things are apparently more than ordinary technology.

[pause] If you're suspicious, I'd suggest maybe keeping any information you don't want in the wrong hands off this thing. Stick to personal visits.

The network these phones use is the only accessible network. If they aren't safe we don't have another option.

What, does face-to-face communication not exist where you're from?

Because face-to-face works wonderfully if you need help across town.

Yes, talking in person is certainly an option. It isn't efficient unless you expect us to all stick together all the time.

People where I'm from manage it pretty well. Besides, there's no reason for everyone to split up and stay halfway across town from each other if we're going to work together and get out of here.

As safe as regular cell phones. There's usually someone listening somewhere.

There is? [Pause] Hurray for the future.

Big Brother's always watching. Or listening.

[pause] The future? Should I ask when you're from, kid?

Big brother? That a reference to something?

1918, and I'm not a kid.
